Be a Light onto Yourself!

The Buddha said: "Be a Light onto yourself!" Your teachers can help you and prepare you. But you have to the one to light up your inner candle yourself. The inner investigation to experience being a Light onto oneself is the key of Zenway meditation. True meditation is mentally free from all opinions, from all outside influences, and from all authorities.

Search and investigate through first-hand experience, and you will find the Light with your own eyes.

How to Practice Zenway Meditation

To practice Zenway meditation, you don't have to stop your daily mundane activity, such as reading or driving; you don't even have to assume a particular posture. Real meditation and real bliss should be found in your activity itself. ...There is no particular form in true practice.

Whether in sitting relaxation or in action, Zenway meditation simply means: "Wake up and focus!"

Forms, preparations and procedures are not mandatory. Just stop what you are doing for a moment, take a break, stretch, breathe deeply, sit down, resume what you are doing, focus, and open your mind to whatever comes into it.

The mind always flys around. All you have to do when your mind is flying around is to notice you are flying around. And then stop. (by Brian Zen, CFA)

Observe Your Thoughts - A Powerful Way to Control and Focus Your Mind

All investors who stare at the stock market monitors and watch the ticker tapes are exposed to the emotions of greed and fear. Controlling your emotions and staying detached from the market madness is the key to success.

One of the technique to increase your ability to control your own mind is to practice becoming a detached observer of what happens in your mind when you see your stock price sinking or your favorite movie star making love on the siler screen. You would find a wave of fear or desire, breaking out of your mind and spreading all over your body via your spine...

Learn to observe quietly what goes in and out of your mind. Watch how the train of thoughts flow. Monitor how the sensation spread over your body.

When you learn to observe your mind and master your desires, fewer and fewer uncontrollable thoughts rise up. Gradually, your mind becomes still, so that you can focus and discover your inner Power.

Every major religion in the world stresses inner peace: To reach your inner God, you must quiet the mind. As the Bible says, "Be still and know that I am God."
